St. Francis Announces 2016 Football Schedule

We are excited announce the 2016 football schedule and excited to announce that our football program is a part of the Bay Football League (BFL) and a part of the North Coast Section (NCS). All other sports will remain in the SCCAL and CCS. The BFL is a conference made up of small private and charter schools in the bay area. The members are Harker of San Jose, Emery of Emeryville, California School of the Deaf in Fremont, Livermore Valley Charter in Livermore and Stellar Prep in Oakland.
 
St. Francis opens up the 2016 campaign in the SCCAL jamboree August 19th at Cabrillo College. The first game will also be at Cabrillo as the Sharks take on cross town rival Pajaro Valley. They Sharks first home game will be the weekend of September 2nd as Greenfield comes to town. For the first time in program history the Sharks will take on an out of state opponent on September 9th as the La Salle Falcons from Portland, Oregon come down to Watsonville. La Salle is coached by Aaron Hazel, the older brother of St. Francis coach Adam Hazel. La Salle is also the alma mater of Aaron Hazel and where Adam went his freshmen and sophomore years of high school before moving to Roseburg, Oregon. 
 
After a bye week the Sharks go to local Santa Cruz County schools Harbor on September 24th and Soquel Friday night September 30th before opening league play October 8th for homecoming vs Livermore Valley Prep. After that the Sharks league schedule has them going to Emery October 15th, going to Harker October 21st, hosting Stellar Prep for senior day October 29th and finishing the regular season on a Thursday night at California School of the Deaf November 3rd. If the Sharks win the league or get an at large bid to the playoffs NCS playoffs will start November 11th. Go Sharks!
