St. Francis Announces John Ausman as our new Varsity Football Coach

St. Francis High School is pleased to announce our new 2017 Varsity Football Coach –

Mr. John Ausman. Coach Ausman, a native of Washington, was a three-sport varsity

student athlete at Asotin High School. Coach Ausman went on to play college football at

the University of La Verne as a Wide Receiver. There he earned a BA in Social Studies,

an MA in Education, and his teaching credential. He spent six years coaching college

football at the University of La Verne and Claremont-McKenna College before joining St.

Francis in 2015.

 

Coach Ausman has been the Defensive Coordinator for the Sharks the past two

seasons and has worked closely with Mr. Hazel. Coach Ausman teaches social studies,

strength & conditioning, and PE/Health at St. Francis. He is married to St. Francis

alumnus Jessie Ausman from the class of 2007.

 

Mr. Hazel will continue his role as Athletic Director and Dean, and he will be welcoming

a second child into his family this spring. Mr. Hazel will continue being a part of the

Sharks Football program as an assistant coach. St. Francis would like to thank Mr. Hazel

for his leadership these past five years in sustaining and growing the SF Football

program. Mr. Hazel completed a 20-32 record and the Sharks made the 2016 NCS

Football playoffs during his tenure.

 

The 2017 football season will have the Sharks returning to the CCS to participate in the

MTAL Coastal Division for football. The Sharks will open the season on August 25th

versus cross-town rival PVHS and on September 8th they will take on La Salle of

Oregon.
