Congratulations to the Sharks baseball team on their CCS playoff wins over Monte Vista Christian and Soquel. They now will play Tuesday night May 23rd at 7 pm at San Jose Municipal Stadium, the home of the San Jose Giants. The Sharks will take on the Menlo School Knights.
The Sharks beat Monte Vista Christian in round 1by a score of 2-1. Andrew Ciandro hit a home run and came into pitch for the Save. Chase Watkins pitched 6 1/3 inning for the win. Ruben Ibarra's glove sealed the win with his diving stop in the bottom of the 7th to get the third out.
On Saturday the Sharks went to extra innings for the 4-3 win over Soquel. Ruben Ibarra hit a home run and came in to pitch in extra innings after Andrew Ciandro pitched 7 great innings. In the top of the 9th Richie Martinez III hit a double and later a Sacrifice fly by Brandon Moakler brought in Martinez for the lead when Ibarra shut the door on Soquel. Mario Velasquez went 3-4 on the day as well.
