St. Francis High School BINGO
Support our BINGO program as a worker and/or player - all students receive a tuition reduction as a result of our St. Francis BINGO.
Currently, the SFHS Friday Night BINGO is the largest annual fundraiser for the school. Every student receives a tuition reduction because of the hard work and generosity of the SFHS BINGO program held across the street at Our Lady Help of Christians Parish in the Kennedy Youth Center Friday night. The parents, alumni parents, and friends of St. Francis, who dedicate themselves to fundraising for annual tuition assistance and capital improvement projects, run the program. Since the school’s inception, BINGO has raised over $1.5 million for assistance and capital improvements. Please contact Ms. Raquel Perez at BINGO@sfsharks.net if you are interested in working with fun people who are having a fun time playing BINGO.
Who works BINGO?
All freshmen parents work Friday Night BINGO.
• If you are a freshmen parent and you DO NOT receive need-based or merit-based tuition assistance then you are expected to fulfill your annual service hours through BINGO first.
All parents of students receiving need-based or merit-based tuition assistance are expected to work BINGO.
• If you are the parent of a student that is receiving need-based or merit based tuition assistance then you are required to work BINGO in addition to your regular annual service hours.
All BINGO workers are scheduled to work their shifts by the school. A list of BINGO team members will be e-mailed to all BINGO volunteers, and contact information can be obtained accessing into the ParentsWeb account and using the directory provided. BINGO workers are encouraged to coordinate with other BINGO team members to facilitate swaps should the BINGO volunteer not be able to attend their scheduled evening.
Each Friday of BINGO 140-180 adults come to Our Lady Help of Christians Hall to enjoy the welcoming atmosphere, good company, good food and a bit of BINGO in a safe environment. While we are fortunate to be able to rely on the parents of our school children to provide a lot of the effort that BINGO consumes, other parishioners do participate and are always welcome! It takes about 20 volunteers, each week, for Friday Night BINGO to succeed.
Jobs vary: we need volunteers to sell Bingo "Packs" at the front counter, accountants in the Bingo office; floor workers to sell "Keeper" games; callers and verifiers. Shifts usually run 4 hours in length; however, as a worker from the parish or a current parent not assigned to work that night, special hours can be arranged.
Preparation for BINGO begins each Friday at 4:30 p.m. and final clean up generally starts at 10:30 pm and is completed by 11:00 p.m. This is a fun group of people to work with, and it has proven to be a pleasant evening to build community. Contact Ms. Raquel Perez at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule yourself as a BINGO volunteer.
- All Friday Night BINGO volunteers must be at least 18 years of age
