St Francis Varsity Boys team notched their 5th win of the season against Santa Cruz at Pinto Lake County Park in Watsonville. Paul Colosi captured the win with a blistering 15:47 on the 2.93 mile course. His time leads the SCCAL. Freshman, EJ Kelly V, was 2nd overall in 15:49 and once again broke the 9th grade school record by 1:17.  Junior, Braxton Rico sprinted in at 15:50 for the 3rd fastest time in our league as well as the top mark posted for a St Francis junior. The Sharks 4th man, Luke Colosi, posted a 16:41 for 4th overall and 5th man Freshman, Joseph Ramirez, clocked  18:22 good for 9th place. Sophomores, David Ambriz 10th-18:38 & James Young 11th-18:40 rounded off our magnificent seven Varsity boys for a team score of 19 to 38 for the win over Santa Cruz.

The entire Varsity Girls ran lifetime bests on Thursday, October 15th on the SCCAL Championship course. Freshman Riley Croghan paced the squad with a 6th place overall in 21:23. Sophomore Olivia Burke had an impressive sprint for 8th place-21:51.  For the Seniors, Cati Bianchi was 9th-21:53 and Shelby Robinett finished 11th 23:10, while Avery Croghan was 12th in 24:39 for a combined score of 45. The lady Sharks keep improving in every race. They fell to Santa Cruz (ranked #2 in CCS) yet beat Mt. Madonna. We look forward to both the boys and the girls team running in the post season!

The varsity football team currently sits at 4-4 on the season and has been competing well this season and look to put together some more wins to finish out the season. Junior Ivo Lasich has ran for 9 touchdowns on the season and is on pace to break 1,000 yards rushing for the season. Senior night for the football team will be Friday October 30th with the game played at Watsonville High School vs Pajaro Valley.

The junior varsity football team is having a strong season as they currently sit at 8-0. It has been a true team effort as 6 players have scored at least 4 touchdowns on the season. The team is averaging 371 yards rushing per game, yet does not have a player on pace to break 1,000 yards on the season.

Girls tennis is having another strong season and is competing for a spot in the CCS playoffs. Claire Casper, Katherine Casper and Megan Kelly have been leading the singles charge for the Sharks. Doubles teams of Rachael Boxwell and Cameron Croghan then Maya Talavera and Gabriella Gutierrez have been doing well and winning lots of matches for the Sharks.

Volleyball is looking to earn a spot in the CCS Division V playoffs. Because of the stellar play in non league games the Sharks are close to earning enough points to qualify for the CCS Division V playoffs. October 29th vs Santa Cruz in the BAC is senior night for Camille Baylis, Tori Yamaoka, Kiko Ragsac, Mackenzie Mitchell and Victoria Yassa. Super sophomores Emma Ryan, Audrey Ryan and Samantha Bellucci have been having great seasons for the Sharks.
