Greetings from the office of the Dean of Students and Director of Student Activities:

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer break. It is great to hear that students and teachers are spending some quality time with their families. Vacations and staycations have started, and I look forward to hearing great stories of what everyone did this summer.

During this month last year, I was entering my role as Dean of Students and Director of Activities. It has been an honor to serve all of you so far, and I am looking forward to serving you again in the upcoming school year. It will be my continued goal to provide leadership in the areas of student discipline and activities with the purpose of promoting a school climate that is conducive to learning and community.

The 2016-2017 Student-Family Handbook is updated on our school website, and I encourage all students to review it prior to the start of the new school year. The handbook provides students and parents with information regarding our school's philosophy, mission, general policies, dress code, discipline issues, student leadership, academic policies, and other pertinent items. Please pay close attention to the dress code and appearance section of the handbook to learn about the expectations for the upcoming year.

As of this newsletter, there has already been one Animas leadership training. The next leadership training is June 29, 12:00pm-2:00pm, and all students are welcome!

A quick reminder that every Wednesday this summer, I am hosting open pitch soccer trainings from 9:00am-11:30am. Please check the athletics calendar for all training dates.

During the week of June 20-25, I will be serving as a chaperone at SYLC. I will be checking my email throughout the week in case you need to reach me.

I would like to close by reiterating that I look forward to working with and serving everyone in the St. Francis community in the upcoming school year. Have a restful and enjoyable June, and I'll see you next month!
