Congratulations to the boys and girls basketball teams at St. Francis. The girls kicked off the night by beating Scotts Valley 52-42. Seniors Alyssa Soto and Megan Kelly led the way for the Sharks on the defensive end and Juniors Janiya Sevilla scored 22 points and Sophomore Janessa Yniguez scored 21.
The boys won 56-31 on senior night. Juniors Chase Watkins and Jason Gallo led the night in scoring with 16 and 15 points. Senior Ruben Ibarra had 8 points on the night and fellow Senior Sandor Rene Rodriguez scored 6 points. Seniors Ivo Lasich and Riley Scherr earned starts on the evening to help contribute to the win. Senior Joseph Kovacs scored 2 points, and fellow Seniors Jason Kane, Dominic Figueroa and Nick Munoz all hit from behind the arc for 3 points each.
The Sharks will next take on Soquel Monday night February 6th with the girls at 6 pm and the boys at 7pm. Come out and support your Sharks!
