Choir
The St. Francis Concert Choir participated in two wonderful performance opportunities in March.
The St. Francis Concert Choir participated in two wonderful performance opportunities in March.
On March 3rd, the choir sang at the “Sing For Your Life” concert in which all ticket sales raised funds for our performing arts program. Besides being able to listen to other schools and great barbershop quartets perform, the choir raised over $800 for our school! Thanks to our families for your support!
Then, on March 7th, the choir participated in the CCS Choral Festival. This festival is a more competitive type performance where they are adjudicated and given a score by seasoned judges. I am happy to report that this year they received an overall score of “Excellent”, which is a tremendous accomplishment! After the performance the choir was treated to a brief clinic with one of the adjudicators. In the clinic, students worked on breath support, musical phrasing, and listening while singing.
The choir is now preparing for our annual end of the year “Concert on the Green” which will be held on Friday, May 11th. You will be treated to a casual outdoor performance on the St. Francis main lawn, while listening to an entertaining variety of song selections. Admission is FREE and a picnic-style dinner will be available to purchase You don’t want to miss it!
