From the office of the Assistant Principal of Academics

Dear St. Francis Families,

Thank you for the wonderful turn out for Back-To-School Night!  I know all of our teachers were excited to meet with you and share some of the wonderful things that will be happening in their classrooms this year.  If you would like to meet individually with any of your student's teachers, please contact them directly and arrange a mutually agreeable time to meet.

Our academic classes have been renewed through the University of California for the 2016-2017 school year.  We are proud to add Concert Band and PLTW-Human Body Systems to our register of UC approved classes taught on campus.  We have also added several UC approved online classes this year, including Introduction to Psychology, Japanese II, and AP Human Geography.  Our Advanced Placement courses have also been recertified for the 2016-2017 school year with the addition of AP Government and Politics as a senior social studies class.

PSAT testing will be occurring on campus October 12th.  All students grade 9 through 11 will be taking the PSAT test on that day.  Seniors are encouraged to use that day to visit local colleges and work on their college applications.

Parent Teacher Conferences will be occurring on October 27th.  However, please don’t wait until that day if you would like to meet with one of your student’s teachers.

Course schedule changes are now complete for the first semester.  Please make sure you have access to RenWeb to monitor student performance in their academic classes.  It is vitally important that parents are working together with teachers to help students succeed.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

David M. Cmaylo
