This was the Sharks’ best game of the season so far! Though the Aptos Mariners won (26-24, 21-25, 22-25, 12-25) the scoreboard does not tell the whole tale. This shiver of Sharks fought the Mariners with a doggedness and drive that was simply outstanding to watch! The crowd, dressed in burgundy and gray, jumped to their feet more than once as Laura Martinelli (M) and Madison Orradre (M) formed a big wall at the net. Emma Ryan (OH) was at her best covering the court and came up with 12 kills and 15 digs. Samantha Bellucci (OH) was simply indispensable (A-5, K-6, D-11) running down balls and saving plays. Audrey Ryan (S) bobbed and weaved her way around the court, coming up with 10 digs and putting up some fantastic sets. Keep the momentum going, ladies! The Sharks play Mt. Madonna HS Thursday, September 15 at St. Francis. JV begins at 5:00 pm, Varsity at 6:30 pm.
