Congratulations to the St. Francis Sharks football team on their 42-7 win over Soquel on senior night. The Sharks finish the regular season with an 8-2 overall record (5-1) in league) and as Co Champs in the MTAL Coastal Division. The scoring started early for the Sharks as senior Carson Cuzick scored a pair of touchdowns in the first half. The 2nd half kickoff was returned by junior Andrew Seymour for a touchdown to put the Sharks up 21-0. Later in the quarter Seymour caught a touchdown pass from senior Derric Estrada-Haro. Junior Justin Parker had a long touchdown run to put the Sharks up 35-0 going into the 4th quarter. In the 4th quarter Soquel got on the scoreboard and then Seymour put in one more rushing touchdown to finish the scoring at 42-7. Defensively Seymour had 2 interceptions and the front 7 held their ground all night led by seniors Josh Kovacs, Carson Cuzick, Ethan LoBue, Cory Parker and Tanner Putnins. Senior Quarterback Derric Estrada-Haro had a great night throwing the ball. Other seniors Mario Velasquez, Brandon Moakler and Felipe Padia-Noriega were unable to play in the game, but your contributions to the team were big all season.
Now the Sharks wait to see the playoff seeding for the CCS Division V tournament to see if they move on. The Sharks JV team also beat Soquel by a score of 20-15 and finished the JV league season in a tie for 2nd place.
