From the Athletic Director

Dear St. Francis Families,

Tickets for the December 15th Atlanta Falcons vs San Francisco 49ers game are on sale in the Main Office. Please contact Athletic Director Adam Hazel with any questions at: [email protected]. Come out and support Sharks Alumni Ty Sambrailo as he plays for the Atlanta Falcons.

We’d like to give a huge thank you to the Vasquez family and all who have helped with concessions and ticketing for our athletic events this fall. We still have a couple openings for our last two football games. Please use THIS LINK to sign up. Also, be on the lookout for the winter sports sign-ups to help with Wrestling and Basketball.

On Sunday, November 10th we will host the Fall Sports Banquet in the Borina Athletic Center. There is no charge for Fall sports families and dinner will be provided by Carmona’s. Looking forward to seeing all Fall sports families there!

Congratulations to our Cheer/Football teams on their big win over Greenfield last Friday night and great halftime performances overall by our Cheer squad. The Varsity football team is currently 6-3 on the season (5-2 in PCAL play) and the JV team is 4-2. Our final game is November 8th, we will have Senior Night at Santa Cruz High School as we take on Harbor. JV kickoff is at 5 pm and Varsity at 7:30 pm.

The Cross Country team has had a great year as the boys currently sit in 1st place in the league and the girls are in 2nd place. The PCAL Finals are this Saturday, November 2nd at Toro Park.

Our Volleyball season had Senior Night this week. Congratulations to our girls on a great season! With only two graduating Seniors, the Sharks volleyball team has a bright future with lots of returning Varsity players next fall.

Congratulations to our Girls Tennis team on a great season. Senior Sophia Fryn will be the #3 seed entering the PCAL Finals on Monday, November 4th at San Benito High School. Fellow senior Madeleine Kehoe will be seeded 5th in singles. In doubles, the Sharks will have Raquel Moreno teaming up with Lilly Croghan and Emma Haro teaming up with Peyton Croghan on November 4th. Good luck to our girls at the PCAL Finals.

Winter Sports, including basketball for boys and girls, soccer for boys and girls and co-ed wrestling, begin practices on Monday, November 4th. If your student is a Fall sports student-athlete, he/she must finish the Fall sport before they begin their Winter sports. Also, every Winter sport athlete MUST HAVE A VALID PHYSICAL AND COMPLETED THE BASELINE CONCUSSION TEST. Please see Coach Hazel with any questions. We look forward to a great year in Winter Sports.

Go Sharks,
Mr. Adam Hazel
