From the Athletic Director

Dear St. Francis Families,

Congratulations to our Cross Country team on finishing 19th overall at the State Meet on Saturday, November 30th at Woodward Park. Patrick McCarthy led the team with a 16:51 followed closely by Julian Vargas 16:55. Paul Kane, Christian Magana, Diego and Santiago Ramirez all finished nearly within a minute of each other. Matthew Kaczynski set a Personal Record. The entire team ran their personal best for 5000m-- we are so proud of our Sharks!

The 49er/Falcon game on December 15th is almost here! Thank you to those who bought tickets to this game to support Ty Sambrailo, a SF alumnus and player for the Atlanta Falcons. Kickoff is set for 1 pm and I’m happy to report that our tickets are sold out. Thank you all for supporting Ty and St. Francis Athletics.

Please mark your calendars and save the date for our annual Golf Tournament on Friday, June 5th, 2020 at Spring Hills Golf Course. We hope to see you all there either playing, sponsoring or volunteering at our tournament!

Winter sports have begun. Our girls basketball played a CCS sportsmanship vs PCS and beat Pajaro Valley 61-26 to start the season. Audrey Hernandez led the way with 21 points for the Sharks. Coach Randy Braga is leading the program and we’re happy to have him back. The Sharks will be taking part in the Watsonville tournament starting December 4th.

Boys Soccer was set to begin December 3rd, but that match has been postponed until December 16th. The Sharks play at SLV December 6th, at Stevenson December 10th, and at Pacific Grove December 13th. Coach Raul Navarro is in his 2nd season with the Sharks and 1st as Head Coach.

Our Wrestling team competed in their first tournament on November 30th at the Ed Ferrell tournament at Harbor High School. Diego Gomez finished 3rd in his weight class and Darren Silva finished 5th.
