2) Tutorial - During the coming weeks, Tutorial rooms should become more and more crowded.  Please encourage your students to begin to organize their school paperwork and review previous tests and quizzes.  They will have far less studying for final exams if they start early and take advantage of the Tutorial time this coming week.

3) Study Day - Study Day will be held on Tuesday, December 17.  Attendance is mandatory from 7:50 am until 12:30 pm.  Teachers will be available until 2 pm. The day will include structured and unstructured study time and an opportunity for students to gather in Faith Families. The food truck will be available.  Click here for specific Study Day information and schedule.

Light snacks and raffles will keep students engaged throughout the day.  Parents, please look for emails regarding the opportunity to earn service hours by donating food and gift cards.

4) Final Exams - First semester grades will be entered on your student’s permanent St. Francis High School transcript.  Paper report cards will be generated and mailed home in January.

The next 6 days of school are a vitally important time for students to focus on their studies.  Please continue to check student progress on FACTS/RenWeb, encourage your students to attend Tutorial on a regular basis, and assist your student with planning ahead and time management.

Final exams take place Wednesday, December 18 through Friday, December 20.  Make up exams are planned for Friday, January 3, 2020.

Most courses will have a scheduled final exam.  Students are required to be on campus for the entire time during their scheduled final exam.

If a student does not have a final exam during a designated examination date and time, that student is not required to be on campus.  However, once a student arrives on campus, he or she may not leave campus until their last exam for the day is finished.

Please look ahead to reschedule any appointments or events that may distract or limit your student’s success on final exams.

Please encourage students to get a good night’s sleep and to eat a healthy breakfast before their exams.  Lunch trucks will be available after the second exam of the day on all three days.

    • The exam offered during or after the make-up period may be different than the regularly scheduled exam.
  • A missed exam resulting from an unexcused or discretionary absence may result in the student receiving a score of “I” (equivalent to a zero) for the exam.

Students who will be absent during final exams MUST speak with Ms. Eagleson ASAP to request make up exam time on Friday, January 3.  Students may be held out of Spring Semester classes if final exams have not been completed prior to Monday, January 6, 2020.

Schedule change requests must be submitted by Tuesday, December 17 at 3 pm.  Any course change requests after December 17 will be charged the late change fee.

7) UC, CSU, and FAFSA Applications - The window to submit UC and CSU applications for admissions in the Fall of 2020 is now closed  However, the deadline to submit the applications to private colleges and those out of the state of California are still open.  If your student is a senior and has not yet begun their college applications, they should begin ASAP. Thank you to Ms. Gutierrez and Mrs. Burke for providing after school application workshops for the Class of 2020!

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available online.  Families are strongly encouraged to work on their application and submit it as early as possible.

Peace Within

May today there be peace within.

May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you

May you be confident knowing you are a child of God.

Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, and love.

It is there for each and every one of us.

- St. Therèse of Lisieux and St. Theresa of Avila

Sincerely,

Ms. Colleen Eagleson
