Braxton Rico obliterates his previous Freshmen 800m record at the Bill Kearney Invitational. Saturday, April 19th, Rico toed the line with 30 competitors at Hartnell College in Salinas.
Rico led the pack from the start with the reigning champ hunting him down. Rico wasn't going to make it easy for the fellow harriers as he threw down a 59 second 400m split. Rico pumped his arms on the final straightaway then crossed the finish line in nearly a five second lifetime best, 2:03.066!
Currently, the fastest freshmen time in the county. The Sharks are back on the Track Saturday, April 26th at the Pacific Grove Invitational, 9am.
