Winter Formal

The Winter Formal is right around the corner! Students can purchase bids in the office this week for (until January 9) for $40 for a single and $75; Next week the price goes up to $45/$85. 

If you are bringing a non-St. Francis guest be sure to get a guest pass from the office and have it turned in by Thursday, January 15. Guests must bring identification and will not be allowed in if they haven't been cleared.

The St. Francis Winter Formal will be hosted at the Seascape Golf Club and all St. Francis students are invited to attend "A Night In the City!" Bids are on sale in the office for $40 for a single and $75 for a couple. Finger foods and drinks will be provided and the night promises to transport our students to an elegant evening in New York. Come dressed to impress. Non-St. Francis students may attend as guests, but must be sponsored by a St. Francis student and must submit a guest pass no later than Thursday, January 15. All attendees must adhere to the Code of Dance, stated below:

Code of Dance: Students are required to dance in an appropriate manner, in keeping with community standards.  Vulgar or provocative dancing, such as freak dancing and grinding will not be allowed.  Any dancing which is sexually suggestive, or which mimics sexual acts, is prohibited.  Any student displaying inappropriate dancing will be warned once by a dance chaperone.  Subsequent violations will result in the student being dismissed from the dance.  Parents will be notified prior to the student leaving the dance.  A student dismissed from a dance is liable for exclusion from future dances, as determined by the Dean of Discipline.


All purses and backpacks are subject to search.  St. Francis High School is not responsible for personal belongings brought to the dance.

 

Dance Dress Code: Students not dressing in accordance to the dress regulations for the event will not be admitted to the event.  Students who violate the dress regulations during the event are subject to being removed from the event.  In such a case, a student’s parent/guardian will be notified prior to the student being excused from the event.   

The expected dress for this event is semi-formal dress.  Women must wear a dress, no skirts, pants, denim or short dresses.  Dresses must be no shorter than four inches from the top of the knee.  Backless dresses many not be lower than mid-back.  Strapless dresses and spaghetti straps are acceptable if well supported.  No visible cleavage.  No flip flops or sport shoes. 

Men must wear ties and long sleeve shirts with dress pants (no jeans).  Sport coats or suit jackets are optional.  No sneakers, sandals or flip-flops.  Tie must stay on for the entire dance.
