St. Francis Announces 2015 Varsity and JV Football Schedule

The 2015 St. Francis Sharks are excited to announce their 10 games schedule. The Sharks also will have a Junior Varsity team as the program is growing in numbers. The junior varsity games will be played before the varsity games.

St. Francis will begin the season on the road at the Greenfield Bruins Friday night September 4th. The Sharks have beaten the Bruins the last two season both in dramatic fashion. 2013 had the Sharks coming back from a 20-0 deficit to win 28-27 and in 2014 the Sharks won 35-28 as current Sophomore Receiver Conor Bagchee scored in the final minute after fellow Sophomore Andrew Ciandro caused a fumble recovered by current Junior Angel Rico. The schedule sees the return of Marina High School and a trip to Monterey Peninsula College on Friday night September 11th. St. Francis last played Marina in 2012 where the Sharks won 44-0. The win was the first Shark win for President/Principal Patrick Lee as well as Head Coach Adam Hazel.

The Sharks first home game will be September 19th vs. the Gonzales Spartans as the Sharks look to avenge their 2014 loss. On September 26th the Sharks host Stevenson (RLS) and on October 3rd the Sharks will host Harbor. After a bye week the Sharks will hit the road to play Vacaville Christian Friday night October 16th then go to Lynbrook in San Jose Friday October 23rd.

The Sharks will come home and host Pajaro Valley on Saturday October 31st. This will be the first time since 2011 that St. Francis will play a Watsonville school. On Friday November 6th the Sharks will look to make it three wins in a row over Livermore Valley Prep. In the 2014 contest Ivo Lasich, Ruben Ibarra and Carson Cuzick all had breakthrough performances. The Sharks come home for senior day on Saturday November 14th vs. Harker. The 2015 Sharks return 31 student/athletes to the program led by 16 returning starters.
