St. Francis Cross Country Team on a Hot Streak

Currently the Sharks Varsity Boys are ranked #1 for Division V in the CCS & the girls just knocking off 2nd ranked Notre Dame spirits from Salinas. 
 
St Francis Varsity Boys team notched their 5th win of the season yesterday against Santa Cruz at Pinto Lake County Park in Watsonville. Paul Colosi captured the win with a blistering 15:47 on the 2.93 mile course. His time  leads the SCCAL. Freshmen, EJ Kelly V was 2nd overall in 15:49 & once again rewriting the 9th grade school record by 1:17.  Junior, Braxton Rico sprinted in at 15:50 for the 3rd fastest time in our league as well as the top mark posted for a St Francis junior. The Sharks 4th man, Luke Colosi posted a 16:41 for 4th overall & 5th man Freshmen, Joseph Ramirez clocked  18:22 good for 9th place. Sophomores, David Ambriz 10th-18:38 & James Young 11th-18:40 rounded off our magnificent seven Varsity boys for a team score of 19 to 38 for the win over Santa Cruz.

The entire Varsity Girls ran lifetime best Thursday, October 15th on the SCCAL Championship course. Freshmen, Riley Croghan paced the squad with a 6th place overall in 21:23. Sophomore,  Olivia Burke had an impressive sprint for 8th place-21:51.  Seniors, Cati Bianchi was 9th-21:53 & Shelby Robinett finished 11th 23:10 while Avery Croghan was 12th in 24:39 for a combined score of 45. The lady Sharks keep improving in every race. They fell to Santa Cruz (ranked #2 in CCS) yet beat Mt. Madonna.
 
The Sharks Cross-Country team will be racing Wednesday, October 21 @ 4:20pm on the  Crystal Springs XC course in Belmont, CA. Come out and support your Sharks!
