Sharks Football Season Ends With 42-20 Win over Livermore Valley

The 2015 St. Francis Sharks football team ends the season beating the Livermore Valley Charter Prep Hawks 42-20 on Friday night under the lights at Granada High School. The Sharks were led by their seniors who played in their final high school game. Senior Tommy Carroll led the way with with 147 rushing yards and a touchdown. Jose Suarez had an interception on defense and was 6 for 6 on extra points. Will Salady covered the Hawks receivers all night and Leslie Zhou made an impact on the kickoff team and defense.
 
Other Sharks who helped in the win were Junior Ivo Lasich who ran for 148 yards on 8 carries and had an 80 yard TD catch. Junior Andrew Ciandro had 2 catches for 27 yards and the games first touchdown. Junior Richie Martinez ran for 71 yards and a TD. Sophomore Carson Cuzick ran 2 times for 13 yards and a TD. Sophomore QB Derric Estrada-Haro went 5 for 8 passing for 116 yards and a TD. 
 
The offensive and defensive lines were dominant all night. Junior Ruben Ibarra stepped into a Left Tackle role, Sophomore Center Josh Kovacs, Junior Guard Jerome Lumicao, Sophomore Tackle Joseph Gutierrez-Lee and Freshmen Guard Johnny Ceballos stepped into the offense to lead the offense to 501 total yards.
 
The Frosh/Soph team went 9-0 on the season and ended their season on Halloween so some of the Frosh/Soph players were brought up to varsity and pitched in for the win led by Ceballos. Freshmen Andy O'Rourke stepped into a Defensive Line role and pitched in to help the win. Sophomores Tanner Putnins and James Young and Freshmen Aaron Soto pitched in on special teams to help the team tackle the Hawks returners and get great field position on the return team.
 
The season ends with the varsity record at 5-5. With the frosh/soph going undefeated the future looks bright for Sharks football! Go Sharks and we can't wait for the 2016 season!
