From the Coordinator of Youth Ministry

Dear St. Francis Families,

We have two very special religious feast days in October, and we hope you and your families can join us. All are welcome!

October 4th St. Francis of Assisi Feast Day
All are welcome to join us in honoring our school’s name sake, St. Francis of Assisi.
Mass will be 7:50 a.m. - 8:56 a.m. and be presided by a very special guest, Franciscan Fr. Ken Laverone. Campus Ministry will be hosting a $5 picnic lunch of Chicken Pesto Croissants.
The Ecology Club will invite students to plant flowers and greenery around campus. Parents who would like to volunteer please contact Ms. McLeod at [email protected]

St. Francis of Assisi, Pray for Us.

October 20th is the 100th anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima
“On this 100th anniversary of Fatima, we are reminded again to contemplate its message and embrace its devotions. Although the Angel of Peace and Our Lady of Fatima appeared during the carnage of World War I, the divine messages are perhaps even more relevant today. As faithful disciples, we are called to be holy, and intercessors for each other. Fatima was a wake-up call to strive for peace.” - By Brian Kranick

On this day we will recognize and honor Portuguese traditions and celebrate Our Lady of Fatima. We are also in need of volunteers on this day. Please contact Ms. McLeod at [email protected] to volunteer.

October 23, Freshman Retreat
The Freshman Retreat will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians (The Salesian church across the street from school) from 7:50-2:37. It is a regular academic school day, and all freshman are required to attend. Students can wear Sharkwear and the school will be providing lunch. Permission slips will be sent home in the next two weeks.

Christian Service Program
I am excited to announce Mr. Croghan will be taking over the facilitation of our Christian Service Program. Mr. Croghan has many years experience volunteering in our community and is a recognized expert at leading youth in service activities. Please contact him with any questions regarding student service hours.

On October 11th Mr. Croghan has arranged a day of service for the seniors who are behind in hours. He will be reaching out to these seniors with details.
