Greetings and Welcome from the Office of the Director of Student Life:
Student Activities Update
Our Sharks just experienced a fun Halloween Rally full of costumes, entertainment, and competitive games. Thank you to the Spirit Team for planning and hosting the festive event!
Student Life Update
Dress Code: As a reminder, the 2017-2018 Student-Family Handbook is available on our school website, and I encourage all students to continue to review it as we progress through the school year. The handbook provides students with information regarding our school’s philosophy, mission, general policies, dress code, discipline issues, student leadership, academic policies, and other pertinent items.
Two themes that we have noticed regarding dress code are grooming (specifically with facial hair) and skirt lengths. Please help our students stay in compliance by making sure each morning they are adhering to these dress code standards.
Student have asked to use their personal laptops in the classroom. Since we depend on our firewall software to provide added security to our students, and offer preventive support, all personal laptops are not allowed on campus. Students in Mr. Lee’s Lunch with the President the last two months and staff members both agree that students have too many distractions available to them without the mobile device management (MDM) software installed by the school. Teachers are able to lock their screens down to avoid those distractions.
Recently our IT Director, Mr. Anthony Castaneda, has noticed that students are using their mobile phones as a personal hotspot. Please remind your students that using their phones as a personal hotspot violates the Computer and Internet Use policy, since it undermines the security and monitoring protocols the school has in place.
As mentioned before, I am here to serve all St. Francis High School students, parents, faculty, and, staff. I look forward to working with all community members to create a purposeful and enjoyable learning experience for all students.
