Football Begins Season with 51-16 Win over Sobrato

Congratulations to your St. Francis football team for their 51-16 win over Sobrato to begin the season. The scoring came early and often Quarterback Joseph Ramirez took an option play 37 yards for a touchdown. Later in the first quarter Andy O' Rourke scampered 29 yards for a touchdown. In the 2nd quarter Ceser Sanchez connected on a 31 yard field goal to make the score 17-0. Then the Sharks scored twice before the half as Devin McLeod broke a 72 yard TD run and Andrew Seymour broke a 30 yard TD run. In the third quarter Ramirez connected on a pass to Seymour for a 47 yard TD. Ramirez then ran for a 20 yard TD and the Sharks finished the scoring with a 71 yard TD run by Aaron Soto.
 
Defensively the Sharks went into half pitching a shutout. The defensive line of Lawson Orradre, Diego Ramirez, Isaac Davila, Johnny Ceballos and Aidan Grissom kept the Sobrato run game in check while the linebackers Hunter Blinkenberg, Macedonio Alabbad, O' Rourke, Soto and Logan Manson came up to stop the run and covered the short passing game. The Sharks defensive backs had 4 interceptions on the night as Seymour had 2 with one of them with a 38 yard return to set up the offense. Abel Martinez and Sanchez also had interceptions on the night. 
 
Next week the Sharks take on the Pajaro Valley Grizzlies on Friday August 31st at Cabrillo College at 7:30 pm. The Sharks have won the last two meetings with Pajaro Valley. Come out and support your Sharks!
